It takes work and time. Iā€™ve learned to accept some things about myself that have made living with mental health conditions easier. For example, I donā€™t fight my stimming. I accept I donā€™t socialize like everyone else. Itā€™s ok to be different. With depression, it helps to talk to a therapist and to others who understand you (like on Alike šŸ˜Š) And I make my mental (and physical) health a priority.

This feeling can be common among individuals dealing with chronic physical or mental illnesses. It may stem from the ongoing cycle of illness, treatment, and relapse, which can lead to feelings of hopelessness and despair. Some people express difficulty in accepting their constant state of sickness, while others fear that they might be stuck living with their condition forever.
