Struggling to Communicate and Connect with Others

Definitely a common experience. Relationships don’t have to be ‘normal’, it’s whatever works for you. But it is really important to have some people, it doesn’t have to be very many at all, just some people that you love and trust who love and trust you. Community is really important even if it’s small. Someone to check in on you, someone you can talk to. I have a really difficult time socializing. But I have my people and I’m set with that and it’s really really important.

I struggle with trying to get my friends /family to understand me, and the fact that they’ll never know what it’s like to be in my shoes makes me feel lonely. This quote comforts me: “A friend isn’t someone who completely understands you. It’s someone who wants to.” So although words alone can never convey the complexity of your brain, there Are people who care.
