I have some chronic conditions that have gotten worse over time and now require help to deal with, but it’s really hard for me to ask for help unless I have fully broken down. I think it’s a combination of my self worth being awful, being used to managing on my own, me gaslighting myself about intensity of symptoms/how they’ll react, and distrust in their ability to help(had a lot of bad experiences with it). Any ideas on how to approach or ease myself into it?

One of the posts suggests talking to a therapist about these feelings, as they can help you process them and potentially deal with any underlying depression. It's also important to remember that people who care about you do not see you as a burden. Another post suggests that it might be helpful to communicate your pain and struggles to your friends and family, even if it feels difficult because your symptoms are invisible.
