Allow yourself to have the urge, just wait to act on it by starting with something else ^ice water/ice, etc. set a 15 minute timer or something. in my experience trying to suppress the urge itself makes it worse. But I can prevent many instances by using delay tactics. It’s good to develop a go-to activity for when you feel the urge, makes it easier to know what to do in the heat of the moment.

You can put a rubber band on your wrist and snap it as a replacement

Try to put your sharps in a spot thats hard to get too that way you have a chsnce to not cut cause maybe you calm down by then. I havent cut in over a year and i have 3 blades in my bathroom never been used.
Me and my sister coped by using marker instead of something sharp. We would look like Picasso threw up on our arms but hey, it helped a lot.
