I use to self harm with sharp objects. It wasn't because I was suicidal but it was a moment of self destruction and stress relief. If you struggle with that try dipping your arm or any body part in ice cold water or take a cold shower. It gives your body the same shock and chemical release. Also try getting a hair tie or rubber band and put it around your wrist and pull it so it slaps you. If you do it for the red use red paint. It helps and is better then drawing blood and risking infection.

Distraction, getting out of the environment I'm immediately in. I like to be outside so I go on walks and leaving that environment helps

I haven’t self harmed in multiple years but I used to use ice cubes or rubber bands to create non-harmful physical sensation. A good exercise routine to do when you feel the urge is also a great way to get the same sort of high without the damage. And always ALWAYS speaking with a licensed therapist to address the root of your ideations and alternatives. You absolutely need a good therapist tho and sometimes finding one takes time.
