Starting New Medication for Bipolar 2

Just talked to my psychiatrist about bipolar 2 and new medication, she was on board with the diagnosis because I think she already thought I likely had bp2 but I hadn’t accepted it until recently. anyway we are starting Abilify and stopping the Seroquel after lowering the dose a little more, then if all goes well we will add Lamictal to stabilize my moods. super surprised to be taken seriously but my doctor is pretty cool so I shouldn’t be too surprised. I didn’t expect Abilify to be what she suggested but it does look similar to seroquel and might work better. seroquel is great but it did make me a little too sleepy and has those long term side effects that concern me, although abilify also has those side effects but whatever, I’m gonna try it and see what happens.
