Being off therapy and no cancercells detectable but being immunecompromised has led to a relationship disruption to friends and family members They have an issue with me looking relatively healthy but still weak and immuncompromised

@Nokiaze @Nokiaze it is really an issue with doctors too. When I had kidney issues they didn’t believe I was sick because I looked healthy, merely bloodwork told the truth.

You’ve got this buddy! You've already conquered the biggest hurdle, and that's something to be proud of! Don't let the aftermath get you down

That sucks! Sorry about that. I had same issues with my friends too and at a point, I had to quit explaining because I got tired! Be patient, leave it to time, and take it easy.

Sometimes my friends would say things like, ""Why are you still tired all the time?"" It's like they expect us to bounce back to our pre-cancer selves overnight. With time I understood that they might not mean to be hurtful or dismissive, but their words can still cut deep. What can we do? Educate them; share videos and articles with them regarding life after treatment for them to see the whole picture.Keep marching soldier!

I too am going through chemotherapy and for the most part look normal. However, I have bad neuropathy, digestive issues that keep me up most of the night, chemo brain, and a rash that is mostly hidden from my cloths. However, my family and coworkers expect the same energy and output, even though I am exhausted. You can try to explain, but they will never know what goin are going through. Congratulations on no cancer cells being detected. I was almost there.

Unfortunately, not everyone will understand what you're going through, and that's more about them than it is about you. Ultimately, my priority had to be my health and well-being, both physical and emotional. This meant sometimes stepping back from relationships that were more draining than supportive
