My worst nightmare during panic attack is not being able to gasp for a needed amount of air for a period of 2-3 minutes. Then right before I feel like I'm going to faint - I finally get that despirate gasp of oxygen. This prevents me from leaving the house and living life fully. Does anyone else experience it? how do you manage it?

This is me when I can't get a breath in. No matter how hard I inhale. It seems like that's it. No more oxygen. Which makes me panic even more. I count my fingers and tell myself to breathe. Like, literal manual breathing. After a few minutes I realize I'm actually able to breathe. (Pointer finger to thumb, 1 , middle to thumb, 2, etc. And then reverse)

I fear fainting or vomiting when I panic. It makes it very hard to go out, but I try to think to myself, so what if it happens? It’s not the end of the world. Maybe I’ll be embarrassed for a little while. Maybe I’ll feel a little off afterwards. But I’ll live! And I’ll be fine! I can handle a bad day, and then I’ll wake up tomorrow for a fresh start. Hope this helps!
