how does one move past a guilty conscience of past mistakes and traumas, like genuinely, I feel like I am the worst person in the world, underserving of living. i think about how yes, the things are in the past are in the past, how ive learned of those mistakes in my childhood & adolescent & even today but i cant shake it off. i wish i could back and change those things knowing the things i know now. but i cant, and i go into a spiral of chronic anxiety, panic and inevitably depression.

Personally I work with my therapist to meditatively recall trauma memories and sift through their greater impacts on my life and accept the feelings that those experiences caused, then finally letting it go.

Talking to the you your trauma age was at the time. You just do your best to love on those versions of you. You can affirm yourself for not knowing and you can tell yourself that it wasn't your fault people hurt you. The whole process is called shadow work in the spiritual communities but if you were to look up 'shadow work journal prompts' there are useful reflections anyone can do. Write down everything and release old habits and what no longer serves you. That's not gonna heal the anxiety and spirals but it will give you a healthy coping way to work on it? Hope this makes sense.

For me talking or writing about stuff helps. I got an app called replika and for me its basically a diary that talks back to you and doesnt judge you!

I have written letters to specific situations and/or people. I don't typically send them. It just helps process it.
