Hi. I’ve been experiencing insomnia and nightmares on and off since I was maybe 14 (23 now). It’s gotten massively worse after getting PTSD last year due to SA. Does anyone know any tips that may help? Is there any medication that I could be looking into trying? Thanks

Some people have found relief from PTSD-related nightmares and insomnia using Prazosin. Other suggestions include exercising during the day to tire yourself out, reading before bed to distract your mind, and doing something enjoyable before bed to put you in a good mood. Some also recommend therapy, particularly EMDR, and meditation. It's also suggested to try dream journaling, where you write out the whole nightmare up until the ending as soon as you wake up, then rewrite the ending to give yourself control over it. However, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.
