My point with all that is, try to find coping mechanisms that don't put you in harm's way or make things more difficult for you. Therapy is a great step if it's in your budget, and ask your therapist if they recommend anything else as you work with them.

I use Crazy Aaron’s putty. There are all different kinds. You can find it on Amazon

I completely understand this. I used to do very similar things when I would dissociate so that I would know I was real. If you do it to feel something maybe trying running, popping pimples or blackheads (lol a favorite of mine) or even just screaming. But I know it’s hard. Sending love.
Maybe you need to get something out physically? Punch a pillow or punching bag, dance, jog? For me I love lifting heavy things and throwing (highland games stuff) even if I'm no good! Buy a pack of water balloons and throw them. Get some confetti eggs and smash them (should be some out by now for Easter!). Go out in nature and throw rocks and dirt around. Maybe you wanted some physical manifestation of emotional pain? Try something that won't really hurt you. One is dipping your face in ice water - Google it, it activates something in your body which can help with strong emotion. Some people are comforted by weighted blankets. I like to go overly comfy - lotion, fuzzy stuff, microwaveable heating pads, nice scents, a cup of tea, chill music. Overwhelm your senses with things that are comforting to you. Try four square breathing. It can be hard to do things that feel good for your body if you are upset with yourself. But you still have goodness inside you and you absolutely deserve love and care. I also sometimes draw on myself with nontoxic washable markers! I like to doodle plants and animals or trippy patterns.
Therapy and group are huge helps for me in times of distress! Plz take care of yourself and give yourself compassion and self love and care the best you can! I also as above was mentioned do Art, Journaling, Music Therapy, anything I can to distress and calm myself!! Good Luck!! Best Wishes!! ❤️💕
It’s hard, I used to beat my thighs until I bruised. It took awhile but I found other outlets. Spending time alone (not necessarily meditating, but checking in with myself), making art, writing, etc I also highly recommend therapy, support groups, etc to have people to talk to in a time when your emotions are running high and you feel that you can’t handle it alone. Best of luck xx ❤️❤️
