i reached out to a friend for support. i was doubting if they even cared, and well.. i got a bit dramatic with my words. in turn, they said that i was trying to guilt trip them into staying, and being manipulative. i swear that wasn't on the front of my mind.. but i also can see how i was, in fact, trying to guilt trip them. i'm so used to having to be sad for others to talk to me, that i feel like it's the only way to get attention. i can see how this trait of mine was isntilled by others, as i had a friend that did the same. maybe not as extreme as it's become for me. i want to know how to stop guilt tripping others, and coming off as maniulative...

Being real about your feelings, take a breath before writing to your friend and semi plan out what you want to say, apologize and recognize your mistakes and explain yourself, reread your texts, this applies to real life too, everyone messes up its what you do afterwards that matters, it takes time to stop bad habits but as long as you keep at it you can stop! So all in all watch how you speak/what you do and if it's being sad to gain atention/communication stop breath and communicate genuinely, I too struggle with sounding a little sad/guilt tripping like and I've been following these steps and they've helped me lessen how manipulative I sound :)

"who's pulling your strings" by Harriet B. Braiker and " 30 covert emotional manipulation tactics" by Adelyn Birch are 2 good books with good reviews both on Amazon, it's hard to find a GREAT book about such a complex issue but these two explain alot
