How do you stop feeling guilty and forgive yourself for hurting someone you care deeply about...?

I understand where you're coming from. It's a process for sure. I've ruined relationships recently. One was romantic. I tend to blame myself, but she's told me multiple times that we both had a part in us breaking things off and to not beat myself up. It's hard though. I'm doing the best I can to grow. I don't wanna be the same person I am right now next year. I'm learning that it's ok to feel things and I'm allowing myself to do that more now. I'm also learning to communicate better, which has been the hardest thing. But I do appreciate the kind words. And I'm proud of you too! I hope the same for you! ❤️
i'm asking myself this question, too. things i did in the past ended up tearing a friendship apart and i'm constantly feeling guilt and all kinds of self-hate because of it... it's easier said than done, and i personally have a long way to go with this, but i think we need to give ourselves time—to internalize that what we did was hurtful, but also to understand that it's in the past and we are learning to move forward having learned not to go down that same path with future relationships. i don't think i'll ever get the face-to-face forgiveness that i want from the friend i hurt. but maybe i can find some solace in treating friends i still have (and friends i have yet to meet) better. it's a process. and i hope you know you being here, trying to move forward, and expressing the guilt all means you are a growing and healing person. i'm proud of you and sincerely hope you find the way to love and forgive yourself a little bit at a time. sending hugs ♡
