I finally parted ways with a toxic friend, but why does it feel wrong?? How do I stop feeling guilty? I don’t have many friends to start off so this being the first time I’ve ever actually stood up for myself and ended a friendship that was not healthy for me was very hard. So why do I feel bad about distancing myself from someone who was negatively impacting my life?

It might be because you’re still caring about their feelings and how you impacted them with this decision- it’s a good sign that you’re a caring person. It’ll get better and I’m proud of you for making a change like that ♥️

@whicheveroneiam They did have a break up back in March so I am afraid of how it’ll affect them in that way since they haven’t given themselves time to heal (something we’ve had multiple disagreements on), so I’m just hoping they take care of themselves like they need to. Thank you tho :)

I understand that feeling, it will get better and you feel that way because you allowed it for so long, trust me I understand

even though you lost the bad parts of the friend you lost the good parts too and ur probably grieving that. it's a big change to lose a friend and you'll feel better over time. you made the right choice you just have to get used to a life without them

@ina Very true, we did a lot together over the past two years so I can see what you mean. I’ll get used to it eventually, I just need to keep focused on patience and adjusting. Thanks for the reminder :) I need it sometimes since my head races too much

Endings are always hard and pretty much always feel shitty even if it's for the best. My only advice is time. Let yourself feel it and know that it will pass. Sorry that's not super helpful

@Bumbling_Bee It is helpful, don’t worry. I just need reminders of patience every once in a while so thanks :)
