so I was diagnosed when I was 16, it took away almost all my teens years and young adult years. I knew people who were partying and having fun and I could barely stand in a room with a.c without it feeling like I was being stuck with needles. does anyone else feel like fibro robbed you of your life?

I was diagnosed at 16 too.. and I’m 35 now. I think fibro and other conditions have altered the path of my life but I think one thing that helps me feel like none of it has taken away my life is knowing that I still get to choose some small thing every day to focus on, some way to experience life a little differently than I did the days before.. A book.. an animal.. a sensation.. a thought. I don’t want to give unsolicited advice, but I don’t regret the path my life has taken because I feel like I have had opportunities to see other vulnerable and hurting people that I honestly might not have noticed as much otherwise. But I don’t expect others to share my views. I just try to see things in ways that help me cope.
