Hello, I've been wondering how to become more emotionally stable. I don't know the steps in order to take, but I want to control my emotions and not let my emotions have total control of me

Learn to take thoughts captive. When you feel emotions being triggered pause, breathe in deep to decrease cortisol (stress hormone), then analyze the thought causing the emotions. Try to be objective and ask if the thought is true, is it serving you, is there something deeper? If so, therapy can be a great place to unpack the stuff that stuffed inside. šŸ¤—

Guided meditation may be helpful to you! If you try it, I recommend using a few different people's so you can find a style that's best for you. Magnesium and exercise are also helpful for mental health- yoga is an exercise that anybody can do because it can be easily adjusted for accessibility. And of course, speaking with a mental health professional is always a good option

I struggle with this a lot. Talking to a therapist has helped tremendously. But one thing I do is stop. Before I react to anything I stop myself. I go to my bedroom for 10 minutes and calm down. It isnā€™t always easy to calm down before I react. So whenever I remember or realize iā€™m reacting before thinking I step away.

      Possibly talk to a therapist.
