Dealing with SIBO/SIFO: Seeking Advice

Hi 👋🏼 I wasn’t diagnosed with SIBO but I did get the breath test done (which is how I found out I didn’t have it, even though I had all the symtpoms) I would start there, or your GI doctor can do an endoscopy of the the small intestine and stomach and take biopsies (you go under don’t worry). If you have really bad symtpoms I would request either or both of those things. I found out I actually have a sucrose intolerance due to a lack of sucrase enzyme in my body which causes similar symptoms to SIBO so if your SIBO results are negative there’s a breath test for the sucrose thing too. I hope you feel better, it sounds like you’re going through a lot 💕 I recommend finding a good GI doctor who listens and also is persistent in helping you figure out what the root of your symtpoms are. I would also get a colonoscopy (I know, not fun!!) because severe pain could be caused by ulcers (hopefully not, but my s/o has this problem and ends up in pain during a flare up).
