Struggling with IBS? Have you been breath tested for SIBO?

So I just want to pop on here and see who all is still struggling hard with their IBS and if so have they gotten breath tested for SIBO? I had been struggling with IBS for a while with really intense symptoms and tossed around doctor to doctor for years and testing and retesting and gaslighting blah blah. until I finally diagnosed AND treated myself for sibo. not a day that goes by that I take for granted my ability to persevere and find answers. I really want to help others. comment here if you have been breath tested/suspect SIBO/or anything of the sort! maybe we can get to the bottom of it together. my ibs is by no means "cured" but I think that is from other underlying conditions that caused my sibo to begin with. jsyk!

I suspect sibo, so much bloating and pain in my lower left often in the middle of the night. Can't get doctors to take me seriously. Taking berberine to see if that helps. I suspect probiotics can make it worse? Also gets flared up when under stress or intense workouts

interesting. Have you tried doing massages around the colon at night when it hurts? I think you should totally get tested if you suspect it then you can work on treating it. You can order a breath test online and do it yourself I did that once. And probiotics can sometimes make it worse yes, it depends on the strain and whatnot.

I will probably order my own test soon, but have heard that they can be very unreliable? Massage sometimes helps slightly, pain always passes within an hour or two but often recurs same day.

mm I dont know about the reliability I have done a home one and also one at a doctors office they were honestly the same test exactly except one I did at home had to be shipped back to the facility for testing. So I guess it's your own judgement on that. I really hope you find some answers if you are willing to travel (in the us) cleveland clinic has gastroenterologists who definitely will test you for it!
