What can I do to handle my ptsd while I'm around the person that caused it? I'm going on a trip in the fall and the person who caused my issues lives where I'm going. I'm going to see family that live out west.

That’s tough. Work on practicing to stay grounded no matter what. I would practice a response if they approach you only if you know their behavior like how they talk or start a conversation. Don’t start the conversation but be ready to let them know they no longer have power over you. Remember you don’t have to hide nor be nice if that’s what will help you gain some confidence and courage. Best wishes!

Its gonna he hard on you but just do your best to stay as calm as you can. This is weird but something that helps me is sour candy. I focus on the sour taste and it stops me from paying attention to things around me. Otherwise, do your best to avoid them and know your limits. You can do it💕

@ChronicPainWarrior_ right? I got the idea from a blog by Beth Avery. They stop panic attacks so quick it's weird. Another thing that works for me is holding my breath and counting, letting it out counting, holding and counting, breathing in counting. I do counts of 8 but it's best to do 4. Dont pass out lol just counting and breathing properly

That's hard. When I am around my triggers I go inside myself where it is saff
