My ex husband suffered greatly from this, and I too dealt with it for years You need a "water pill" first and foremost. I take lasix as needed. This helps your body flush fluid out. You can buy them over the counter but a prescription is way stronger. Make sure you are well hydrated. It may seem counterproductive to take fluid in when you want to remove fluid but this is very important. Water is your friend. Avoid foods that cause swelling. A higher salt intake will make you hold fluid. Make sure you are not sitting still for too long, or standing for too long. Get plenty of sleep. Check out diabetic socks if your feet are swelled. They stretch with you and are much better on your skin. Also keep your skin well moisturized, and take care of any cuts or scrapes you get.
