Hello! šŸ˜Š I have something I do that I have idea what it's associated with. So, if I have a specific sense I focus solely on, I can dissociate on command. But I don't just zone out into my mind. I detach myself from reality, and put myself into an alternate universe that I've created, along with an alter ego, complete with a full backstory, personality, appearance, even going so far as to specific meanings behind all "my" tattoos. I do this several times a day, more when my reality gets worse. I do this behavior as a means of escape from the real world. it's a place I have full control. I can lose myself for 8+ hours straight if no one interrupts. I don't know what this behavior is called, and I'm curious if it's even called anything or associated with any disorder. I just decided it was a coping mechanism for my stress and emotions, but sometimes, I intentionally tear my alter ego's life apart, and do awful things in the world, such as SH and unaliving my alter ego. This triggers me badly, and I do it often without realizing I do it.

I DO THE SAME THING. I donā€™t necessarily imagine myself but I have like whole cast of characters with developed backstories and personalities and appearances. Iā€™m not sure what exactly that can be associated with, but Iā€™ve been told mine can be partially attributed to ADD.
