Does anyone else constantly plan things out meticulously and/ or make lists ALL THE TIME? I clean my house and I find sheets of paper everywhere of all the different lists I've made. Some of my lists are repeats ( like one day ill make a list for finances, but then when im bored at work ill make a new more updated one of the same list etc.) Is it weird or does anyone else do this?

Yes I have notebooks. I buy a new one every month and fill it with list, budgets, information. Really anything except journaling thoughts lol.

I have multiple lists all over and half finished and I’ll forget and make another of the same. I do this with notes too. It helps with my anxiety. It makes me feel productive and in control. But only to a point because I get overwhelmed that I have so many in different places and if I want to work on one I don’t always remember where it is. Recently I made an “official” list that is the only one I really work out of but have other long & short term and important & not lists I use to add a few things to the official one so it’s not so overwhelming. Now I can actually focus on the “official” list and get more done. I have started trying to consolidate notes which helps and is a huge undertaking. I’ve had others tell me it’s unusual but it works for me and working on making it work better. So do whatever works for you!!

@Smallfry Same with my husband lol. So I stopped making lists and it made me feel not my best. It’s similar to journaling and helping keep things in order so you feel like you can deal with all these to-do things that are overwhelming.

@Steph78 I started just making my lists in a 5 subject notebook so my notes aren’t all over the house. Now me and hubby are happy lol

Fun fact. Supposedly people’s brains can only remember seven ideas at a time. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by how crowded my brain feels, my list ends up with eight things on it lolol confirmation bias

I am a list maker too. We call them burgernotes, my hubby made it up to refer to my notes everywhere and my nickname is aly burger. Which has a story behind it as well. I love burgernotes because I seem to forget appointments and everything has to be written down or I’m completely lost lol.
