We I was in active addiction and "coming down" or ready to try and get clean I found a safe space/place to stay while doing so. I'd get food, water and comfy blankets and clothes and start my detox.

First, I'm so sorry nobody has responded to your post before now. As if recovery isn't lonely enough, silence just further drives that home... second, try taking Niacin. It will give you a little boost while you're adjusting. Please drink plenty of water when you take it, otherwise you'll get cramps. & when you first start, until your body acclimates to it, you're gonna get really hot for a bit. It's best to take it & lie down for about an hour to start. Good luck, hon. I personally struggle so hard with my own addiction, I know how difficult it can be. Don't forget to go to meetings & find yourself a sponsor. I highly recommend finding an AA meeting as opposed to CA or NA - there's no such thing as an old timer in recovery in CA or NA, but there's lots of old timers in AA - you can learn a lot from them.

Some suggestions include drinking lots of water with pink salt and lemon to help flush the system quickly and replenish electrolyte levels from fluid loss. Other suggestions include taking Benadryl or Vistril, using citric acid to drive it out of your blood and urine, and trying to sleep through it.
