I have to wait till January for rhumetologist appointment for hEDS. Any tips on how to get through until them. My joints subluxate constantly and it's very painful

      The right shoes are EVERYTHING. I always place having good stable, comfortable shoes over everything. A little bit of a heel and padding- so no flats or if you like ones like classic converse you should probably have insoles. Some shoe brands even make sneakers that don’t require you to bend over to put them on which is lovely. Then getting new shoes once the current ones wear out- it’s sooner than you think and is more expensive to live this way but it is SO worth it.

        @whicheveroneiam absolutely!! I can't walk in any shoes that are not supprtive and fit my super-orthodics. I'll look into ones that don't require bending over. It would save time and spoons

      TAPE. this will be harder to get if you have a latex allergy, but it's cheaper than splints and braces if you don't need them yet (though they are worth the investment)

        @wise will try it, thanks!

      Be aware they may just give you PT. Try getting k tape, there's a ton of videos online for any problem area you have. Strength the muscles around the joints but go slow so you don't overdo it. Heat is your friend. Put dry rice (NOT minute rice) in a sock and put it in the microwave and use as a hotpack.

        @TunaGoon thank you! I'll try what you suggested. PT has never worked for me.

          @Zebragirl I hope it helps. When you do see rhum you could ask to try Voltaren gel. It has done wonders for me on bad days.
