Seeking advice on getting diagnosed with C-PTSD

A question for those diagnosed with C-PTSD; How did you go about getting your diagnosis? As someone who seriously thinks I may have this condition, I'm unsure how to bring it up to a medical professional - or what medical professional to bring it up to. Any and all advice is appreciated!

      I'm in the same place as you. I'm self diagnosed, don't have a mental health care provider to bat this around with.

      I was diagnosed with PTSD 4 years ago after I was shot & run victim. (Car hit me, I was a pedestrian) The doctors at the hospital diagnosed it. I still have anxiety attacks and cannot go outdoors after dark. I have been seeing a therapist for awhile. Talking it out helps me deal with it.

        @Grammy12 I'm sorry that happened to you. Unfortunately, C-PTSD is sorta different because it's the result of multiple events... There isn't really one big thing that could be looked at as the cause, so it's a bit harder to get diagnosed with. Thank you for your comment and sharing your story anyways!
