hi, how is everyone? I'm currently preparing myself to go to court against my ex who sexually assaulted me. I had my pre-trial visit and it only scared me more... My depression and anxiety are getting worse and I'm generally struggling with the thought of what might be coming. Does anyone have any insights into what might happen on court, or any tips on how to manage my mental health during this time? thank you in advance (I'm taking sertraline to help manage my depression)

Dm me if ya want. I've been through that and taking Sertraline as well. I can walk you through it. I didn't get the chance to go to court with mine but I know the court proceedings well due to my brother.

I can sort of help with what happens in court if you are in the UK. It may not help if you're not but the UK courts will allow you to either be screened from your ex or give your evidence by video link from another room in the court or even somewhere else. Most courts also have victim support volunteers who can help you with moral support etc. Have you got anyone you really trust who could go with you? They should be allowed to wait with you and then go into the public gallery and be there if you need them. Speak to you barrister or even the police officers in your case and tell them your fears, they won't judge and will know where to get you extra support from as they will have had other people feel the same. Take any support you are offered, itcreally will help. Take care x

Hey I'm doing okay and I wish that you get better. 💕You're strong and I know this is difficult so you can always message me how you're feeling and stuff. I have no experience with this but I can give you tips to help with your stress and anxiety since I suffer from it as well. What helps me with my stress is to distract myself by playing games on my phone, it calmed my stress last night when I had a panic attack at a restaurant. It was a game that helped calm down my anxiety by making me paint or throw stuff around. What can also help you is trying yoga with self positive affirmations or even going in a walk in nature and trying to forget about the hardships of life for a few minutes. Walking really helped me with my anxiety that came from my eating disorder. It made me forget about my problems for a while. My mother also told me to start painting which helped too. I'd say even journaling your feelings or writing poems about how you feel helps to release tension inside. I love to write poems everyday and it helps to put my emotions down into words so I can move on for the day. I hope I helped these are personal remedies for my anxiety and I know everyone is different. Also playing Fortnite helps right now because I get so into the game I literally forget I exist which is great for my issues.

@Ashcookie Meditation is also great with claiming music. Even listening to your favorite song helps. Working out too helps to release anger for me and I feel better afterwards. Doing hobbies I love helps also like dancing or ballet
