Does anyone else feel like their autoimmune disease(s) make them undesirable, undatable, bad relationship material?!

I never thought I'd find anyone for those types of reasons, but I tried casual dating anyway and sort of collided with the most distracting (in a good way), supportive, loving partner I ever could have dreamed up. He changed my life. Allow yourself the chance to be proven wrong!

Yes. I haven’t dated in years because I feel I just wouldn’t be understood. I’ve been told to exercise and eat right as if that’s a cure all for a serious and rare disease that they no nothing about. It’s left me defeated when it comes to finding a partner.

all i can say is; yes 😂 i’m not sure how my boyfriend has dealt with me for four years. but it’s just proof that someone will love you unconditionally, if not now, one day. have hope !

I have definitely thought that… but luckily I prevailed & have been married 7 years- I’ve had lupus for 12 years. Everyone has “something”, our something is just lupus!

I don’t have an autoimmune disease but I do have a chronic illness. I was so sick during November and December because I wasn’t on any medicine and I felt like I was ruining the holiday season for my bf who wanted to go ice skating and to see lights and stuff. I feel like I’m a handful of a person or like I’m too high maintenance but I just remember that a chronic illness is not something I can control. The best people will understand that, and love you no matter what 💖
