hey so I've been on Escitalopram 20 MG for like 2-3 years now and idk if it works anymore like I feel like I'm just here half the time. I kind of want to ask my Dr to try something different but I blame myself so much for how I feel. And that's bc I don't think I do enough to help myself, especially with losing weight. I know that their are anti depressants that help with weight loss I'm just not sure how to go about asking my Dr for something like that. Anyone got any advice?

I felt better once my Dr switched me from escitalopram to sertraline. Although I became more active my weight is still the same.

It talking to your doctor is hard writing it out and giving it to your doctor can be easier.

If I were you, I'd tell your doctor what you said in this post in summary. Fluoxetine helped me lose a lot of weight and feel happier in contrast to sertraline and escitalopram on their own. I no longer take fluoxetine, but when I did, I was simultaneously taking duloxetine (and still do) in case that presents any weight factors. However, keep in mind that antidepressants affect everyone differently! :)

One user suggested talking to your doctor about different medications for weight and trying vitamin B12 for energy. It's important to have an open conversation with your doctor about your concerns and explore the possibility of trying a different antidepressant or additional treatments to help with weight loss and energy levels.
