Need advice on changing antidepressants

I was diagnosed with severe depression in 2012, I’ve been under various medications. Efflexor was horrible, Wellbutrin off and on and now Prozac, I think I need a change any suggestions?

I would def talk to your doctor about changing and let them know any symptoms or such that you feel with new meds

What dosage of Prozac are you?? 20, 40 or more? Prozac takes a bit time to work and if you on a lower dosage talk to your Dr to increase the dosage.

I take paraxotine and abilify to boost it. Together they have been working for me for years (as long as I remember to take them!). I found that flipping my bottles helps. I'll take them all, flip the bottle upside down, next night I take them all, flip the bottle right side up. Just keep doing that every night to remember to take them. I don't know why it helps, but it does!

I don’t recommend lexapro- I felt numb and humanless when I took it

What is making you decide to go off Prozac? (I’m on Prozac and wanting to change so I’m curious why your reason is)

I was also diagnosed with depression in 2012! I'm afraid I don't have medication suggestions though, the only medication that ever seemed to make a real difference was Wellbutrin, but unfortunately I suffered a full-blown psychosis episode on the medication and was advised to immediately discontinue. I've been on Prozac, Pristiq, and Viibryd (among others I can't remember) and have never noticed a significant difference in depression. I currently take an antipsychotic injection (Abilify) but do not take anything for depression. While I do not advise discontinuing medication, I do recommend looking at non-medication ways of managing your illness as well. I personally have found healthy habits and changing thinking patterns to be much more helpful in managing my depression than any medication has ever been.

there’s injections for abilify? I took the pills but not for psychosis, for me it was for panic attacks I don’t recommend missing a dose of abilify my doc stopped his practice without telling me and I was of abilify for over a week and when I started it again, I was sent to the ER for transient tics- never had tics before that day

I have been on Cymbalta for 15 years. It has been fantastic for me. Besides just helping with depression, it helps with anxiety and pain. My doctor says that since I was on it for so long, it is not working as well as it used to. They are going to wean me off of it and start me on Wellbutrin. What did you think of it?
