has anyone ever tried medical marijuana or cbd for anxiety & depression? was it helpful? I'm afraid of anti depressants, so trying to look into more natural options.
I used delta 8 vape pens and delta 9 or 10 gummies. It helps so much. I also quit drinking alcohol 101 days ago, I think that helped the sometimes intrusive thoughts too.
I'd only recommend it in conjunction to counseling/therapy, as it can cause ill effects with some mental illnesses.
Always remember, if the THC freaks you out too much, or causes too much anxiety, add CBD; it counteracts/brings down the effects of THC.
I know Delta8 is the only thing available in some states, but I have found Delta8 as vastly under-tested for exactly the reason that it's selling without the safety regulations of a Cannabis legal state. The same reason we test our food. Tests include: (pesticides, heavy metals)
Thanks all- it's helpful to get different perspectives. The testing/regulations are a concern for me too, even for cbd. Luckily I'm in a cannabis legal state, and have the proper channels to get medical marijuana.
I used to smoke cannabis and it helped for a couple years and all of a sudden it made it worse. CBD was good for a bit but then started to freak myself out. The feeling of being inebriated in anyway has sent me spiraling in anxiety and I miss smoking. It used to be my one thing to calm down.
I use marijuana for my anxiety, OCD, and ADHD. If I use too much (easy to do) then it can make it worse. But using about 5mg (edibles) once or twice a day helps me. I will also smoke or vape here and there, too. It's a fine line between enough to help and becoming "couch lady" as my friends call me when I have too much.
Cannabis can be a wonderful tool, but many strains can induce anxiety. I would recommend steering clear of sativas as the "energizing" "invigorating" effect can be more anxiety inducing than indicas. Personally, I did a lot of research about strains. The Leafly website is a good resource as you can search specific strain names. You can also ask your local dispensary if they have a budtender knowledgeable in what strains they would recommend. Absolutely do not start with anything except flower cannabis. Cartridges and edibles are much stronger and last much longer. Don't inhale too hard and start with one toke only. Wait 60 minutes to get a feel for how it makes you feel. Make sure you have everything you need right next to you. Food, water, phone, TV remote, etc. Cannabis can make you feel floaty or stuck to the chair. Using cannabis on an empty stomach will make it stronger but being full might feel a little nauseous. If you ever feel like you want out eating and drinking something will help mellow it out. You can even start with a CBD dominant strain that would have low THC. Those can still help anxiety with less psychoactive effect. Cannabis makes the heart beat faster so try not to be alarmed. You can always take more, but you cannot take less so start small and slow. Also, it is not an emergency med. It is not something to be used when in extreme distress or panic attack. It will not replace a psychiatrist and therapist. It can have interactions with some medications also, so best to disclose to your doctor if safe. Generally speaking you'd have to have high doses of both rx med and cannabis to have strong interactions. Obviously can increase your sedation level so combined with other sedating meds can increase the effect. I don't recommend driving, working, supervising children, etc after using cannabis.
ši smoke weed every day and i use it instead of taking prozac is been a year now that i dont take antidepressant and i feel good with it just stay away from sativas thats what will give u more anxiety i have noticed i only some indicas u should try indicas for now on
