After my second laparoscopy last year, every time I have sex I get a uti. I rarely use tampons and after using tampons during my last period, I have a UTI again. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice would be helpful. The doctors have done imaging scans and state that the surgery shouldn’t have caused this but I know it did

@Lola808 thank you so so much, I missed this message and just seeing it. So basically when I originally thought it was a UTI, everyone kept saying to drink cranberry juice and FYI for anyone reading this: if you have cystitis more than likely drinking cranberry juice will hurt like a MFer. So just taking D-Mannose seems to be a good suggestion and I’ll check out the link.

Oh I can help!!!!!! That was me!!!! I started taking D-Mannose. It’s all natural. It’s the actual substance from the cranberry that heals uti’s. It basically attracts the bacteria and pulls it out when you pee. I take it before and after sex. Now I’m down to just once a day to keep the UTI away. Antibiotics just keep the cycle going Now D-Mannose 500 mg, 300 Capsules - Vegan, Non-GMO https://a.co/d/eRcV01r

@100Percent_K thank you so much for your post, it sounds like I too should talk to my doctor. I've had at least 4 UTI's this year already, and I'm afraid to have sex with my boyfriend because I don't want any more. Thanks again!

@100Percent_K Thanks this is very helpful, I’ll check into it. My doctors always act clueless when I have a problem, they don’t search for other things they just keep prescribing antibiotics as if that’s healthy

@Mermtar that’s awful! I am so sorry they’re doing that because you’re absolutely right, it’s not healthy. IC feels exactly like a UTI without bacteria present and can be well managed if the doctor knows what they’re doing. It’s also VERY common with endometriosis, so idk why they didn’t think of that first for you. Hopefully they get this figured out for you 💛💙
