Does anyone else with endo tend to get utis alot during flare ups? I find when I get really bad I get frequent utis especially just after using the toilet, I'm wiping properly and keeping the area plenty clean but it's really bloody annoying and painful

Before i had endo excision surgery, i would get Utis, bv and yeast infections a lot and it actually ended up being the estrogen i the combination birth control pill i was on that was flaring up the vaginal symptoms since it was throwing my ph out of wack and flaring the endo, when i switched to a progestin only pill these symptoms mostly went away

Same! I’ve had 5/6 in the last year and a half. Done everything they’ve told me to help prevent. Water, cranberry juice, use the toilet after s*x, etc. but still keeps coming back. I’ve found as soon as I start to notice use ibuprofen and lots of water can help it from getting worse. They can be so painful. Take care

@Jadiemay thank you for the tip with the ibuprofen! I'll try that next time! They can definitely be very painful, and super frustrating!!

Do they come back with positive bacterial cultures or do you just have the symptoms of UTIs?

@100Percent_K I'm not sure I don't always go to my doctor for them, they kinda dissappear after a couple of hours or overnight as I sleep so I doubt I'm getting any actual bacterial cultures

@Rustyrobot it’s very possible you have interstitial cystitis then! It’s extremely common in endo patients and I have both endo and IC together. It mimics a UTI, but always tests negative for bacteria

@100Percent_K that's a good question, because I've had UTI-like symptoms on my period and other times, but cultures came back negative.

One user mentioned that they feel like they have a UTI more often than not, and it's possible that it's related to their endometriosis. Another user shared that they experience UTI-like symptoms during menstruation, which can be related to endometriosis as well. It is important to consult with a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
