I don't think so but it might help avoid an attack. I actually was getting attacks right after colonoscopies and endoscopies - go figure. After 12 plus attacks. I couldn't take anymore and finally had surgery. Had another attack 5 years later. And I believe I had one in September, two years later. I stopped eating. Drank only liquids for 3-4 days. Then soft foods for about week. While high fiber foods are good for you and may help avoid an attack. It's the last thing you want to eat during an attack. I have found no correlation between eating seeds or peanuts or popcorn, but listen to your gastro guy and avoid foods that trigger an uncomfortable stomach.
