I want to be better for myself and my boyfriend. I always pick little arguments and yet he still loves me and tries to help me. However, I feel so toxic I just want to leave him, I feel like he’d be better with someone else. He’s so good to me and it breaks my heart to break up with him, I just want better for him. I tell him that and it hurts his feelings because it makes him feel like he’s not good enough, but he’s amazing. He’s helped me through everything. Should I break up with him? If not what do I do to be better?

"Extremely supportive" bf recently dumped me bc I wasn't present enough for him. Never compromise yourself for someone else even if you think it's good in the long run. Follow your heart, love 💕

I think I would take the time to work through all of your feelings. Keep asking why until you can't get further. "I don't feel like I'm good enough for him." Why? "I always pick fights" why? "Because Im not feeling heard." Why? Or "I don't think I am it just blows up." Why? Or "I am feeling grumpy and angry" why? It would definitely help to talk to a therapist about it if you can they have a lot of tools for helping to think about situations in a more complex way.

I'm going through the exact situation right now with my gf, except I'm the one who got dumped. She left it open ended as if we still have a chance to get back together. In this time I've been working on myself and she has too, I'm trying to be the best I can for her and I can only hope some part of her is doing this for us.
