I used to feel like that a lot when nightmares were a constant experience for me. I have experiences like that all the time now, which started again when I developed multiple chronic illnesses 6 months ago. The dreams are not as intense as they used to be, but they're still bad. I try to just tell myself that nothing else matters when I need sleep, so delaying/dreading sleep because of fear of a bad dream is not going to make myself any less tired, only sleeping will. The dreams also can't hurt me physically, and whatever happens in my dreams is probably because of what I'm dealing with in real life which means they will pass as time goes on.

@arttheclownapologist Yes!! I had a dream that my house was haunted- I had to go to the bathroom, but my dream started by me waking up and using the restroom so I was scared that if I went to the bathroom my dream would come true😭

@Mafuyu i have to stay awake for a bit bc it take me a few minutes to realize my family isnt going to die lol
yeh it happens a lot to me. I usually have really intense nightmares that terrify me and when i wake up i become too scared to go back to sleep. I try to distract myself from it, because the more i think about the dream the more anxious i feel
I do this often and when a nightmare wakes me up I can never go back to sleep. I get up and work on my craft projects. (Knitting, diamond dotz, whatever)
What I do when that happens is smoke a cig or get up and watch Netflix or anything to refresh my mind and forget about the dream for a bit then try and sleep again, I also cuddle my boyfriend every time I wake up from a nightmare it really soothes and calms me down
@Rueuwu nice
Yeah it happens to me sometimes, get so spooked i just give up on sleep for the rest of the night
I'm about to crash out... Myself... I hope this helps
Yes.. I found if I listened to different music than normal... Or classical. It helps. Sometimes eat a little food something sweet or salty.
@Miah77 interesting I need to try that
