Need help with nightmares

im too scared to go to sleep because of nightmares, any suggestions?

I know the feeling. Sometimes I try to make up my own story in my head as I'm falling asleep in hopes that I'll dream to continue it. Otherwise I listen to something, like a podcast or music, to relax and focus on something besides the nightmares.

I also find that talking about my fears/nightmares helps me realize that they're not as bad as I feel like they are. Dreams can't hurt you. They are definitely able to terrify you and cause anxiety, but they can't cause too much damage.
