When to Get Checked for PMDD?

Hello!! I’ve been doing some research into PMDD and I’m almost positive I have it but I haven’t been diagnosed due to almost all my previous doctors (and everyone I know) just kind of shooing my problems away. My question is, how did you know it was time to go and get checked for PMDD?

I mentioned it to my obgyn bc I was having sinus infections 5 days before my period for 8 months. Then I noticed cycles of mental health issues, misphonia, and just overal not being able to function properly for 2-3 weeks per month. Having pcos made it less predictable when my periods were irregular but the symptoms were always the same. Having a diagnosis hasn't necessarily helped. I was given continuous birth control but only stayed on it for 3 years as it caused many issues.

  @Mrs.Jess thank you! You already helped me!!! I got my period 2 days ago and i had no idea what misphonia is but i know i have it now thanks to you! There was a neighbors dog barking a few houses down for 15 mins straight and I thought i was about to lose my mind!!! I thought I was just stressed/overwhelmed but this makes sense as this happens alot and ive always accounted it to being stressed and overwhelmed by life
