Dealing with Misophonia and PMDD

Wondering if there’s anyone out there with both misophonia and PMDD! I’ve suffered from misophonia as long as I can remember, realizing I probably have PMDD is very new to me though and dealing with both at the same time hasn’t been fun. Ive had a general nurse practitioner confirm I probably have PMDD but am still waiting to see a gynecologist to get the official diagnosis

Can you help? connect today

Misophonia is when sounds can give you a strong reaction right? Because if so, yes! I have such a strong reaction to the sound of people chewing. Never thought to correlate it with my PMDD

Also as far as diagnosises, do they have to be from a gyno? My psychiatrist diagnosed me with PMDD due to my severe depression pre-menstrual cycle.

I think either a gyno or psychiatrist can. I just don’t have a psychiatrist right now. And I want to have my IUD taken out so I figured I’d go to the gyno first

oooh ok! I hope all goes well for you and you can get a diagnosis! Having pmdd is rough, but having a diagnosis to explain your symptoms for you makes it a little easier. In my experience at least
