I just got diagnosed with PMDD, premenstrual dysphoric disorder which makes sense given my symptoms. My doctor put me on some medication, but I’m a bit nervous. Anyone who has PMDD, what are some things you have found works well? The week before my cycle I feel like I’m going insane, my anxiety rest of the month is there, and I honestly only have a good four to five days after my period where I feel normal.

Some people with PMDD have found relief through various methods. One person mentioned that their primary care doctor prescribed Paxil, which helped significantly with their symptoms. Another individual suggested taking NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) daily for PMDD, which can be purchased on Amazon. A combination of therapy and Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol (Yaz) was also recommended by a user who visited a women's clinic. Additionally, tracking periods to anticipate symptoms was suggested. Some individuals also found it helpful to remind themselves that their feelings are due to hormonal changes and will pass. Others use activities like music, coloring, writing, or watching emotional movies as outlets for their feelings.
