Have had OCD for most of my life but only recently was diagnosed when I experienced a 3-4 month period of severe obsessive compulsive behaviors around food that looked like a developing eating disorder. I struggle with “monologuing” in my head throughout the day when I react sentences, thoughts, or entire speeches until I’m exhausted. I have compulsive behaviors especially around safety because of my PTSD. My therapist makes me take pictures of my doorknobs, oven/toaster/locks etc to look at during the day to make sure I remember I locked turned off etc instead of panic throughout the day and drive back home…Just to name a few. I was on Zoloft for a while and it seemed to help calm the “you have to do this or you will die” voice but it also made me manic (I have bipolar disorder). What are you taking for OCD that has been helpful??? Or what non med techniques do you use throughout your day.

Thanks for that relatable advice/thoughts! I have taken abilify before actually one of the first meds I ever tried but it made me into a dysfunctional zombie :/
