@secretsiren I truly think that there is only so much I can say since I am personally not in a relationship, nor do I work. Knowing that, I don’t know how reliable this advice will be, but I will try my best. I think that YOU should 100% be your utmost priority. You need to take care of yourself. Let me ask this- if you don’t take care of yourself, how are you going to be able to take care of others? If that’s truly your goal, then I suggest putting in some time for yourself and just taking care of your body, mind, and soul. I think that you might really need to sit down with the people close to you and tell them all about this. Try to emphasize that you would not be able to focus on anything else if you are not in good health yourself. As far as your cats go, I think they’ll be okay. Cats are pretty rad. Remember, you have the power inside of you!!! <3

my best advice is getting at least one thing done per day even if it’s upsetting. like making your bed or completing a single task that isn’t so daunting. at the end of the day, you can think of it more optimistically because at least you got something done!!!

I have a mixture of mental health issues, not any worse than the next guy, however I have found myself struggling extra hard lately with my hypervigilence, I work 2 Jobs have 2 cats and live with my bipolar partner. I struggle to find time for myself or to even make an appointment. I kinda just wanna know if there's a way to easily step back and not feel like I'm letting everyone around me down?
First off, I think you should confide in someone and explain what’s going on. If you’re already doing this, then great. The most important thing, is to trust the person, (assuming this is a trustworthy person, maybe even a therapist or someone trained in this) about things you can do to make yourself feel good. (Hobbies, activities, etc.) BUT PLEASE DO NOT try to find methods on your own unless you know for sure they’re healthy. Don’t reach out to substances. Don’t reach out to self-harm. You need to avoid all of that stuff. A good tip is to find something to really invest your time into. For example, I got into Buddhism. I read a 200 page book all about it, even made a slide show with a summary on each page. Try to find a religion, hobby, passion, something that you see and go, “I can see myself doing this in my future”. Start something, do something, OCCUPY YOUR TIME. It’s the most important thing right now, trust me. YOU GOT THIS.
I'd say improve your quality of life as much as possible first. Whether it's getting medicated or just putting yourself in a environment that you are more comfortable in. My first step was treatment, its been a long few years but now I have a regimen down and I feel like I'm ready to start living finally
