Can I have symptoms from each type of BPD?

I understand there are like four types of BPD is it possible for me to have symptoms in each type ? Not every symptom but some. I have at least 5 symptoms of BPD but they’re all in different categories for the most part.

      Hello Emily55, I would not put too much consideration into which sub type you may fit into. If you have five or more of the nine symptoms, I would recommend focusing on that versus the subtypes. Additionally, borderline personality disorder, is a disorder built on instability, in all areas of life functioning, instability in self, relationships, moods, etc, so it is normal to not fit into a specific group. I have personally never looked into what subtype I fit in, but just know there could be a variation in anything. If you are working with a therapist, maybe you can ask them for some guidance. Additionally, if you are not working with a therapist, it is always good to understand which symptoms affect you the most.

        @MichelleP I have about seven of the BPD symptoms. The one that affects me most is feeling completely chronically empty, and self-hate. I do have abandonment issues but I express it in a much different way. Like saying my partner does not love me constantly for him to say that he does. I have a past of being controlling, jealous, and manipulative . I tend to isolate myself or keep it to myself now so I don’t hurt my partner . But I get overly anxious and jealous . I am working with a therapist but she’s not really helpful, and dosent even know what this disorder is. I’ve been searching for a new person. Thank you !
