Unpopular opinion here: fuck weight loss propaganda! Weight has not a damn thing to do with health. I know everyone will come after me for saying that. Movement and nourishment, absolutely!! But weight?! Fuck no. It usually has a lot more to do with mental health. You can work on that and you won't care about your weight. Talk to a therapist about your eating behaviors. Learn to love yourself. I'm not there yet but it's a lot more empowering work for me than caring about my weight.

I'm on lisdexamfetamine for my adhd. I have recently learnt that it is also a treatment for binge eating disorder, as well as adhd. It has also caused my appetite to plummet. This, in combination with me now eating small meals more routinely has caused me to lose weight, and not an insignificant amount. I do agree with some of the opinions, that a suppressant maybe a good option. Exercise was always a struggle for me with my adhd, and I sympathise that you may be in the same boat, with either motivation, or the debilitating nature of your conditions. So a physical approach might not necessarily work. I would say though, that the advice we can give would be no substitute for that of a doctor, or medical professional. Hope this helps a little 🙂

@seedling In the past couple years I started following social accounts of people who actually looked like me and openly talked about their experiences being in a fat body and overcoming shame. It's been deeply powerful. When you're surrounded by fat-phobia and diet culture everywhere in the media and movies, then actively seeking to surround yourself with the opposite can do wonders.

Well I'm on Adderall but you can get ACEWORKZ 100% Pure Saffron Extract - Appetite Suppressant for Weight Loss - Metabolism Booster - Diet Pills for Women & Men (90 Capsules) https://a.co/d/caDZSUT. From Amazon I've heard it works really well and I've done some research on it and it seems like a best second option!

I'm getting the gastric bypass this month.
Have you tried counting your calories / food intake by using an app? I found weightloss incredibly difficult until I began using NutraCheck to count my calories. It helped me understand how much I should be eating and gave me a better understanding of what's in the food I was consuming.
@LemonCat22 myfitnessapp is also a good one!

I have the opposite problem and I'd like to say that you are beautiful. Nothing more, you are beautiful.

I peeked at your profile and it says you're on abilify, whenever I'm put on it it causes extreme insatiable hunger, I wake up at nights to snack I'm so hungry! So my advice would be if you can -- switch to a different antipsychotic, some of them weren't causing that for me.
@blueflovver abilify sorry that must be a mistake on my page as I haven't heard of that I'll go check now xx
@blueflovver on that note, a large majority of antipsychotics have that side effect as well as just a lot of weight gain not related to eating. There are some weight-neutral ones out there though.
Definitely recommend a food sensitivity test 🤗
@B_renee ohhh what's that? And how do I go about doing it xx
I say this with caution and it may not be a popular opinion. I'll start by saying that I had bulimia growing up but had gained like 114 lbs after college. If you are very overweight and/or obese and have tried lifestyle changes with no luck- I recommend one of the GLP-1 meds. Which are just a very high dose of a diabetes media. In smaller doses, they are prescribed for diabetes. At higher doses, they work for weight loss. I'm on Saxenda which is the high dose of Victoza. A popular one people are on now is Ozempic (low dose)/Wegovy (high dose). They are have helped me so much. I've struggled with weight my whole life. Ups and and downs. Constant periods of exercise and various diets. it has been so hard. I now have prediabetes/insulin resistance from PCOS. And an unhealthy blood panel. I started on Saxenda around 10 weeks ago and have lost 28.6 lbs. I'm taking it along with a healthier diet and exercise as well. But the effect that I have is that it makes me not hungry. It slows down gastric emptying and helps insulin. Not being constantly starving is so helpful. No more binge eating or late-night snacks or eating until I'm uncomfortable. It is incredibly helpful. People can be judgemental and might not agree. But it is getting my health back on track so that is what matters to me. And really, ppl can live very healthily in bigger bodies. Smaller bodies won't always me healthy. I was in a bigger for a while. Until my health started suffering. But I no longer am healthy so I wanted to change that. And Saxenda has helped me tremendously.
@E_belli I really want to try this but as a single mum who can't work due to mental illness the cost is the problem for me here xx
I feel ya. One Dr and nurse says my weight isn't bad. Other Dr and nurse at hospital says I need to loose weight, I'm trying everything going, kind of hard now am awaiting 3 surgerys. Just try gently exercise And keep a food and drink diary.
@Titch2002 I'm so sorry your going through that xx
Also hopeful that your aiming for a healthy weight for your bone shape not everyone is built to be very tiny ❤️ I'm built as a wide hipped big bottom shape no matter how many muscles I grow lol 😂
@mamabear1990 I have body dismorphia and just dispose myself xx
I'm struggling to reduce weight due to hormonal stuff as I had a baby but I stay like this usually for a couple years after due to hormones Are your hormones steady? As it sounds like you try your best to lose weight and because it doesn't move you over eat again By any chance does that mean you have a restricted diet? I don't diet although I have multiple allergies and digestive issues but I'be started losing weight by eating more and drinking more as well as taking fenugreek supplements which help correct sugar levels I can try give advice based on what your doing and works for me But I can say that eating less doesn't work for everyone and some people eat too little for their body to lose excess weight I am still overweight ATM but work in progress
@mamabear1990 I have tried most thing exercise I have tried but it's a struggle with my fibro xx
@loner.girl that I get I'm doing very low amounts of exercise as I need to try not flare up daily to help with the kids 😅 one of my friends once told me that yoga shouldn't hurt if done right she found out it still hurts even if done gently (we both have fibromyalgia) was like yep exercise always hurts for me no matter how gentle and slow I go! At least you're not alone in the feat of exercise being sore as hell! And if I suggest the fenugreek tablets they have been making my tummy flatter :) fenugreek helps both digestive help and helps sugar and insulin levels so in turn reduces weight but don't take too many of them or you get an upset tummy
@mamabear1990 yeah that’s what I was gonna ask if they have a low thyroid as that’s what I have which causes weight gain

@Igglepiggle yeah hormones can cause a huge amount of weight changes I try be gentle with myself ATM as I won't lose weight well for about a year but I can gain muscle mass under it so I'm considering that a plus 💕 add on eating or drinking too much or too little or the wrong things like periods for me cause at least 3 kg of water weight and inflammation weight every month as they just do 😅😩 go up while sizes in clothes no matter what I eat Same happens when I eat too much salt or soy which I'm apparently allergic to lol 🤣 so I blow up from inflammation in my body so dropped it out my diet now obviously Can be all sorts of reasons but often there is a reason at least and knowing some people like myself physically can't be thin helps ❤️
Sorry are you saying you can’t lose weight because you struggle making the lifestyle changes to lose weight or that you’re doing everything you can and the weight just won’t come off?
3
@Igglepiggle a bit of both if I'm honest x
What worked for me was some sort of appetite suppressant. Nothing would work for me either. But once I started that suppressant I changed my diet and maybe even do some light exercise. I couldn't control my appetite at all, all I would think about was food.
@shoe may I ask what kind you were on xx
