Hi! What treatments have you done to help learn to manage your severe mental illnesses other than CBT, DBT, medication, or inpatient facilities? I'm looking into neurofeedback currently but am wondering if there are other options too.

@teooo for me personally, my depressive episodes caused me the most issues. it would come with irritation and impulsivity. i've been on every antidepressant under the sun and none of helped me. i've had 6 rounds of infusions and the depression, along with a handful of my bpd symptoms, have gone away

I also found that ACT has been helpful for me . It stands for acceptance and commitment therapy :) but of course it varying for each individual and you have to find what helps you!
I found TMS (trans-cranial magnetic stimulation) helpful. But DBT was really what got me out of my most severe times

ketamine.
@tswift i've been getting ads for ketamine to help with depression for a year, now i'm getting them for bpd, has it actually helped?
Group therapy with CBT through outpatient care has been very helpful for me. There's also transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for some disorders. All of these options tend to work best combined with individual therapy and medications though.
I've found that affirmations and just stopping myself every once in a while and going through a WHOLE ton of affirmations can help manage some of the side effects of severe mental illness
Have you heard about or considered ECT?
@sea_turtle what’s this stand for?
