Hello. I'm new to Alike and am still struggling to come to terms with having a chronic illness. I was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia a year ago despite having had it for over 30 years. I was diagnosed with costochondritis a year ago which made my fibro symptoms much worse. I also have complex-PTSD from childhood trauma. What's your story?

One user shared that they were diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of months after their father passed in 2020, which they believe was a physical manifestation of emotional grief. Another user was diagnosed with fibro before the winter storm last year, experiencing awful pains every day after intense stress. Some users have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for several years, while others have more recent diagnoses. One user mentioned having joint hypermobility syndrome and fibromyalgia, with pain from hypermobility lasting for 22 years.
