I had quite a hard thought just now - it made me feel sad but I’m being mindful of it. I’m seeing it, giving it space, but don’t want to dwell. I thought, at some point I’m going to forget what it was like to not be in pain. My symptoms flared up and diagnosis came when I was 27, so I’ve been managing for about a year now (nearly 29). Although this was a sad thought, I just think I need to get to know the new me. Get to know how to thrive despite it - as I’m blessed to have an amazing job and support network. Anyone else ever have these thoughts?

I try my best to find small positives in my diagnoses and symptoms. I am taking better care of myself than when I was healthy because I need to. I’m more conscious of what my body needs and how I spend my time. I have more joy in my life now because I stopped saying yes to things out of obligation and use the energy and low pain times I have to do things I want to do things that bring me joy. I still struggle and have bad days physically and dark thoughts, but much less than when I first got sick. I hope you can find a small silver lining to give you strength when hard days happen. Always happy to talk if you want.

Don't let pain get the better of you. I have them thoughts as well, but i fight through it and am never going to let pain win

@bossboy very true. We suffer with pain but it is not who we are. I have to keep reminding myself I didn’t ask for this, and it’s just how life’s cards have fallen - and all I can do is go with the flow 💕
