It's never too late. Ten years I was told I couldn't live on my own and they tried to commit me to a locked facility. I was on disability and not working. I one day just something clicked and I got to living in a staffed unlocked building then a program to live on my own then went to a peer support program then went to grad school, got a car, got an MSW then LSW am almost ready to sign up for LCSW exam. And I was told I couldn't live on my own at 30. Will be 42 next month.
