Hey guys, I’m new here! I take TrokendiXr daily for my migraine preventative and I’m prescribed maxalt for my “emergency relief”. I’ve been on Maxalt for about a year and a half and it was working well, but lately it’s been making me really nauseous and sick every time I have to take it. Is anybody else on this med experienced this or have recommendations to ask my doctor about a different one?

@packersfan95 Hopefully your PCP will be able to help! Best of luck to you too!
The same thing happened to me! It worked at first but then made me sick. I end up having this struggle a lot with migraine medications. I haven’t been able to find one that works for a long amount of time yet.
@SaraSmith yes! I used to love it, it worked so well but recently it’s been awful 😞 I made an appointment with my PCP so hopefully I can get it figured out. Best of luck to you!
I’ve never had that happen to me. I have however been nauseous from the migraine. I try to catch a migraine at the first twinge of a headache. That’s what helps me. All my headaches end up being migraines so I don’t use other medicine. Have you ever tried Imitrex for a rescue med? I also use Amovig. It’s a once a month migraine preventative injection you give yourself. This medicine works excellent for me. I hope that you will find a medication that works for you!! Have a great day!
