Is medication the only option for treating ADHD? I've only recently realized I vary likely have ADHD. I can never stay on task, when I clean one part of the house I clean the whole house but not really... it leaves a million half finished projects all around. I have anxiety and depression and have for most of my life. and I want to try treating the possible ADHD but don't want medication. my brother treated his with coffee but coffee spiked my anxiety if I'm not careful, as well as my heart palpitations.

No there are several ways of dealing with ADHD besides medication. In a nutshell though intervention is a twofold mission- medication/supplementation/diet and learning coping skills/talk therapy/coaching. So basically taking something and learning something. Self awareness is just important as feeding your brain.

Medication changed my life so significantly for the better. I lived with undiagnosed ADHD for nearly 22 years and the change when I started adderall was so rediculous. I can function like a "normal" person. I can screen out sensory input, pay attention to things, remember things, etc etc Obviously do what is right for you, but I seriously recommend trying medicine. Adderall is not tollorance forming and you can realistically expect to be able to stop taking it (under doctor supervision) if it isn't right for you.

Medication is what works best for me. However, exercise, following a regular schedule, check lists, and being outside all help.
