I'm a young woman w ADHD, Anxiety and Depression. But my concerns are mostly w my ADHD bc I don't know how to deal/cope w it in a healthy way yet. I'm not on medication yet, still working on it. So not that meds will cure ADHD, but my questions are what symptoms will indicate that my ADHD is progressing w medication? And other than meds, are there other treatments that might help me?

For me, the biggest issue with my ADHD is executive dysfunction. Once I was medicated doing things seemed possible.

I suggest writing down what you experience while on medication to get an idea of how it affects you. When I found the right medication for me, at first I thought it wasn't doing anything. But then I realized my productivity wasn't being held back by my fears anymore and that's all I needed! A lot of the medications I tried made me feel very different, like I was in a different brain or something. I liked the one that was subtle, but that's just me!

Honestly I know you said other than meds but for me meds were a miracle cure, they didn't eliminate symptoms but it went from impossible to doable

@Alarata That sounds amazing. These are the kind of comments from ppl that get me excited and curious to try and find the right meds bc I really wanna be able to do things w/o feeling like a failure.

@megatw I forgot what executive function means. But honestly doing most things, if not all things, I have trouble doing. I usually either just don't do em until I feel like doing em or I do em half assed šŸ˜‚

@QueerDreams that's essentially it. Basically you cannot figure out how/where to start tasks or are too overwhelmed to begin
